A heartfelt thank you to all who have supported and purchased the deck!
While making this project, and in the process of combing through the knowledge and footage of the ocean which was available to me, I gained a great appreciation for just how dear those resources are. I desire to give back to the ocean which has inspired all of this, and to those who appreciate and protect it, even in any small way I can.
Though I never told anyone as I was creating it, it was always my secret hope that others purchasing my art will not only support me as an artist and put food on my plate, but also practically honor the natural world which gives us all so much, and connects us.
Thanks to how much love the deck has received this month (and over time), I was able to donate a portion of the proceeds to ocean conservation projects. I chose the Coral Reef Alliance this time because of how heavily coral reefs are featured in the art, and also the Ocean Cleanup, for its fantastic work in making practical strides to remove plastic from the rivers, shores, and floating ocean garbage patches of the world. I hope to be able to do this more often in the future! Thank you all deeply for your support. ♥
